Fine Buttered Bread

A non – Christian but a religious leader made a remark while preaching against Christianity that “‘x’, our religion is a fine buttered bread and you see Christianity is eat and be well bread. So, it is only those who are sick that must go to Christ. That is why the Christians always ask those who are sick, jobless, or have one problem or another to come to them and Christ will solve their problems. However, as far as our ‘x’ religion is concerned, we are healthy, so we do not need their Christ”.
The religious leader’s statement above about Christ and Christians is true. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst,” John 6:35. He adds in verse 50, 51
“This is the bread which comes down from heaven that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, which I shall give for the light of the world.” That is why Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:28 declared, “come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.
That is why Christians today are occupied with inviting all to come to Jesus Christ the bread of life for rest. The religionist said they don’t need Him. He and his group believe in their righteousness (which is like a filthy rag to God). To them Jesus has this to say,
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I did not come for to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9: 12-13. The Religious leader is sick but he may not realize it or he may be pretending. Anyway, Religionists are hypocrites. Why is he sick? Romans 3: 23 states “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
In essence, he is part of the all that have sinned. He is part of all that Jesus Christ invited to come for rest. Note that you, the reader, are also part of the all. Take note that the wages of sin is Death. Therefore, you must answer the call for all. Possibly, your religion may promise you everything through its man-made rules and regulations. Proverb 14:12 reads, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
At this juncture, you need to make a decision. Which type of Bread will you eat – Fine Butter Bread with death or Eat And Be well Bread? The choice is yours. Deuteronomy 30:19 reveals “I call heaven and earth as witness today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” To choose life, you must recognize that you are a sinner, confess your sins and forsake them. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. Join the assembly of Bible Believing saints for fellowship and growth. Always be prepared for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you.
