The Second Witness: Jesus Christ,The Son of God

Jesus Christ is the second personality whose evidence is acceptable to serious minds, righteous judges. His witness is true in every sense of the word. Before going further on this,I remember a story that can shed more light on the issue on hand.It was on a Television programme. The programne specialised on settlement of disputes of all kinds.Members of the panel were experienced and fairly old people. They were very intelligent.
There was a dispute that involved two young local musicians(Mr A and Mr B) over the paternity of a male child.Mr A was more outspoken than Mr B.This matter was dragged for months.
On the programme one day, one of the intelligent panelists called the attention of everybody to something as the outspoken musician was proving and boasting that he must be given the child. The panelist said,”Since the first day of hearing this case,I have noticed something,I don’t know if anyone else does, that as soon as the the woman who was the mother of the child brought him in,the boy always went to Mr B.However,he has never ventured to do same to Mr A,even once.” As at the time the man was saying this, the boy was in the warm embrace of Mr B.Anyone that had eyes and was in his/her right mind will see the father-son mood they were in the studio on that day. What attracted the man to the small boy(about three years old)? The boy could not say it in words but in deeds that “This is my father!” What do you have to say about this true life story?
Now ,consider these conversation between the Pharisees and the Son of God in John 8:13-14,17-18:
‘The Pharisees replied,”You are making those claims about yourself!
Such testimony is not valid.”
Jesus told them,”These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know this about me.
Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other.” ‘
This was the Son’s declaration about Himself.Note those words “For I know where I came from and where I am going…” and “…my Father who sent me…”
Note well that Jesus was ‘of age’when He made these words known
At your age now,do you know your Native Land? I don’t know where you are reading this, but where did you get there? After reading this piece or leaving the place of reading it,where are you going? Are you sure? Jesus was even more sure of where He came from and where He was going!
In the first piece of the witnesses, the Father made it known that the beloved Son did what made Him joyous. The Son also says,
“…I do nothing on my own but say only what the Father taught me.
And the one who sent me is with me-he has not deserted me.
For I always do what pleases him.” John 8:28c-29
Can you see the closeness of the Father and His Son? He states further in verses 38 amd 49c thus,
“I am telling you what I saw when I was with my Father….
… I honour my Father.”
If you can boldly call your owo biologica father yours without anyone doubting you,why must you doubt Jesus Christ saying “God is My Father”?
The piece, “Like Father Like Son” discloses some points to buttress the testimony of the first and second witnesses. This ought to come after the Father’s testimony I think the content was lost.I am sorry for this although I don’t know how it happened.
