Nineth Witness: Inner Cabinet Members

During the earthly Ministry of Jesus Christ, he chose three out of the multitude of His disciples to be the closest. These three disciples knew more than others. They were separated by the Lord Jesus Christ to see and know what others did not see and know. The three disciples, indeed, knew Jesus Christ a lot more. Jesus on several occasions called them apart with Himself that they may witness special happenings– to tell people later.
For instance, we read in Mark chapter nine thus,
2 ‘Now after six days Jesus took Peter,James and John,
and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves;
and He was transfigured before them…
4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking
with Jesus…
7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them, and a voice came
out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, Hear Him!”
8 Suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no
one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.’
That was a peculiar experience the three disciples had. Remember that the time Jesus was being baptised by John the Baptist, a voice like this came with the same statement. At Jordan river, John the Baptist was the witness of the voice. On the mount of transfiguration, Peter, James and John were the witnesses. A clause was added, “Hear Him!”. This became necessary because these three were part of those disciples who carried on the ministry after Christ ascended into Heaven to be at the right of God. Are they not to be believed?
This gave Peter the boldness to say,
39 ‘And we are witnesses of all these things which He
did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem,
whom they killed by hanging on a tree.
40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed
Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses
chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank
with Him after He arose from the dead.’ Acts 10
Is there any reason to doubt the testimony of such disciples who ” have been chosen by God”? There is no wisdom in doubting it.
To save time and space, let us hear what Apostle John has to say. In first John Chapter one, he declared,
1 ‘That which was from the beginning, which we
have heard, which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon, and our hands have
handled, concerning the Word of life-
2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear
witness and declare to you that eternal life which
was with the Father and was manifested to us-
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you,
that you also may have fellowship with us, and truly
our fellowship is with the father and with His son
Jesus Christ.
4 And these things we write to you that your joy may
be full.’
These are words from the right withnesses, who have seen, heard, looked upon and handled. They were told by the father to “Hear Him!” That is Jesus Christ, who was the Word of life. These three disciples wrote all that they had access to, that your joy may be full. Do you want that? Believe now and always that Jesus Christ is the son of God!
Stay blessed and rapturable!
