Bathsheba

Oh Bathsheba, Bathsheba!
You daughter of Elias.
Oh Bathsheba, Bathsheba!
Plucked suddenly from your dam.

Bathsheba, Bathsheba,
How painful could it be?
No matter how well you were clever,
The pain sincerely must be real and great!

From a soldier’s house
To a king’s palace;
You were moved,
Indeed, you were removed.

In the process, one thing is clear,
An common thing which is very, very rare,
Is the number of days to brood which you did not prolong;
Because your mourning days were not long.

Quickly, quickly, you made up your mind,
About things, those things many would mind;
Things you may have to between them swing,
But instead, you pull their string.

Immediately, you went to the king’s heart,
And you booked a permanent place
      in his heart.
In the palace, you did not hang like a bat,
Nor be busy like a cat.

In the king’s domain were rivals,
Real and imaginary;
They were there on your arrival.
Your thoughts were not ordinary.

You knew to whom you were now married,
Away with rivalry you were not carried.
One thing you ensure was a stable spirit,
That was knitted with king David’s spirit.

Whenever David danced, you were there to dance,
Anytime he sang praises, you were available to sing;
Whenever the king worshipped, you worship along.
You were not like Michal, who hated these.

You had for Christians a lesson,
And to abide by for a good reason.
For everything there is a season;
So that they will not remain in Satan’s prison.

They must forget their love for sin and Satan,
And stop doing things in his pattern;
Now in God’s clan, they must focus on His plan.
So must they do things to please their husband, their Maker.

Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is coming soon
