The Undoing Of A Faithful Prophet

“And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah” Jeremiah 42:7

A faithful Prophet can be classified as a fake one. One of the major factors to prove that a man of God is a Prophet is the coming to pass of his prophecies. A failed prophecy will display a Prophet of God as a false one.

In Nigeria, before the 2023 elections, many Prophets came up with different prophecies, including unbelievably ridiculous ones. Many Ministers of God became emergency Prophets for the election.

Glory be to God that a man of God who was raised for this generation came up with an astounding prophecy. He declared that Mr A would win the election but it would be rigged for another candidate but the Lord promised to use the “elected” man to do certain things for His people. The prophecies are unfolding gradually as they are being fulfilled one after the other. That is a Prophet of God for you. May the Lord increase His anointing on Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

The emergency Prophets for the election period are cooling down somewhere and somehow now.

Do you know that some of them are not emergency or false Prophets? There is a factor that turned them into that. Inability to wait for the Lord to speak. Whoever is in a hurry runs the risk of losing out on God. He will miss the point, wholly or partially. Whichever way it is, he will be tagged a “False Prophet” because what he will declare will not be the heart of God for His people.

What could be a reason for being in a hurry is the caliber of people who came to them to know the mind of God through them. Many Prophets become drunk of the class of people who come to them and they want to either prove themselves to be ” A Great Prophet Of The Highest God.” or impress their “customer(s)”.

They wanted a quick reply from God and if He did not respond on “time” they act according to the thoughts of their own heart. They deliver their messages to impress their clients. This has landed many Ministers in trouble after their customer lost his election. Political thugs have been used to discipline many Prophets.

Highly placed people have been visiting Prophets to know what the instructions God has for them are. This was the experience of Jeremiah in his days.

The great Prophet had an assembly of all groups in the society before him to inquire about the heart of the Lord God of Israel on whether or not to go to the land of Egypt after the invasion of their land leaving them a few survivors.

The assembly includes all the captains of the army, the military head of state, Johanna ( if he could be called that), and his assistant, Jezaniah, all the greatest people as well as all the least people. These groups of people unanimously came for crucial instructions from a Prophet of God.

Jeremiah had the opportunity to advertise himself and become swollen but he did not. He waited patiently for the Lord of the people to talk before he spoke to them. How long did he wait? He waited for ten good days. I am sure of one thing, the weeping Prophet must have interceded in various ways for the remnants of his people during the ten days. If Prophet Jeremiah did not consider the caliber, the greatness, and the number of people who came to inquire about the heart of the Lord, should you be moved to speak to people before God speaks to you? You will do yourself more harm than good because you will be termed a “fake Prophet” when what you prophesized fails to happen.

I love a man of God when he talks about any vision of what God wants to do as revealed to him; he never fails to add  “clearly”. He will either say, “I saw or heard God clearly.” Those are the words of someone who patiently waits to hear from his Maker. May the Lord continue to help and uphold him and other faithful Prophets of God in the name of Jesus Christ.

Fellow Pilgrim, wait patiently for the Lord your God to speak to you before you speak to His people. Do not add to it; do not remove from it. Say it the way He instructs you and wisely too. The Lord is coming soon, be prepared to meet Him. Remain in the Lord with your household in the name of Jesus Christ.
