The Truth

It is easier to tell a lie than the truth. That is the reason many people hide their errors under a lie. One thing associated with a lie is shame and ridicule. It has no honor and cannot give any who imbibe the habit of lying. No one likes a liar, including those who are liars. A liar also wants to be told the truth, although it is not in his kitty.

Everyone wants the truth of a matter. Everyone searches for the truth, sincerely or otherwise. Many times, so many things are invested in a search for the truth. Only what matters is the truth to be revealed.

Some people are bold to tell the truth. Come sun or rain, some people are very bold, to tell the truth anywhere. Such people are reliable at any time to reveal the truth of any matter they are familiar with. They will not hide anything.

People seek the truth. Each time, some people are looking for the truth. The issue to consider is their reaction to the truth they have been told.

How many people embrace the truth? After spending everything to seek or search for the truth, it is sad that a good percentage of those who find the truth cannot embrace it. Do you know what? The majority of those who are bold enough to tell the truth also find it difficult to embrace the truth themselves.

Let us consider the case of the king of Judah whose name is Zedekiah. He privately inquired to know the truth about what he was to do about the impending invasion of the Chaldeans. Prophet Jeremiah did not hide anything from him. He counseled him to submit himself to the king of   Chaldeans.

During the invasion, King Zedekiah did otherwise. Instead of submission to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the enemies, he fled. However, he was arrested, together with his subjects. His son’s death was the last scene he saw before his eyes were plucked out, put in prison, and taken to Babylon.

Zedekiah searched for the truth, he found it but failed to do it. He disobeyed and paid dearly for it. One thing is to seek the truth, it is another thing to do the truth, Jeremiah 38:14-20.39:4-8.

Fellow Pilgrim, do you tell the truth? Do you seek the truth and do you do so sincerely? Have you found the truth? How do you handle the truth? Are you only concerned with finding the truth? Please, embrace the truth and do it. Your benefit from the truth is to do it. Disobedience has never been of any benefit to any. Please, be obedient and reap its benefits. The Lord is coming soon, prepare to meet Him.
